Obituary

Alice Jane Jones was born on November 20, 1948 to Albert and Mary Lawrence.  Alice made her transition on April 16, 2020 at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, as the Lord called her home.  Alice accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at a early age.  She attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan.

Alice had the sweetest personality and greeted you with a smile.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren every chance she got and enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

She leaves to cherish her memory sons; David Lawrence and Dion (Charelle) Lawrence, daughter; Tammi (Chelovin) Jones, grandchildren; Elijuan Pope, Shaquindra Smith, Shavontay Smith, Che'Trell Pratt, Che'Lyric Pratt and Julia Lawrence.  Alice is survived by her loving sister; Antionette Grant in Pontiac, Michigan and brother; Albert Lawrence, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia and will be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Lawrence and a niece Georgia Jones.

I want to thank the staff at Medilodge of Rochester Hills Nursing Home for taking care of my mother.

Alice was always a good Mother and have always gave the best she had. She was a good listener, my best friend, honest, caring, wise and a giver of her time, and until we are together again RIP.   Love always oldest son David

The family will have a private Family Gathering for immediate family.

As a global about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an increased impact on our community, we are taking steps  to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 10 people with a distance of 6 feet.

May God continue to bless and strengthen all of you during this time.
