Obituary

Alphonso Alonzo Beasley was born September 8, 1965 to the union of the late Oliver Glen Beasley Sr. and Velma Faye (Reid) Beasley.   He was the third oldest of five children.  Alphonso, affectionately known as"Fonzo", he was a loving, caring and devoted father, grandfather and brother.

Alphonso accepted Christ as his personal Savior at early age and was baptized at Greater Middle Baptist Church in Ferndale, Michigan.  Later, he joined Antioch Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan.

Alphonso attended Grant Elementary School Ferndale, Michigan.  When he moved with his family to Pontiac, Michigan, he attended Washington Middle School and Pontiac Central High School.

Alphonso worked for eleven years at Powers Distributing in Auburn Hills, Michigan. After he retired, he was a devoted caregiver for his daughter, Crystal.  Later, he was a caregiver for his father, his mother and his brother, Michael.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others.  His grandchildren loved him and he loved them.  He was known for his love for his family and being a devoted caregiver.  When anyone would call Alphonso, he would show up with no questions asked.

He will be remembered for his quiet demeanor, his dependability and his beautiful, heart warming smile.  He was the greatest, loving father, grandfather,  brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Alphonso was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Crystal Lynn Weatherspoon, his parents, Oliver and Velma Faye Beasley and his nephew, Maurice Beasley and his niece, Keosha Beasley.

Alphonso was called home on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at McLaren Oakland Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter,Tanisha; grandsons; Derrick whom he affectionately called DJ and Terril (RJ); granddaughter; Deanna (DeDe) and Summer;  a special friend and mother of his children, Michelle Weatherspoon; Keywanta and Michelle Jr.; his goddaughter, Kenyetta; three brothers: Oliver Glen Beasley Jr. (LaWanda), Michael Beasley and Marvin Beasley (Levitta); one sister: Wendy Smith (Eric); two uncles; Dorie Reid (Priscilla) and Baylee Reid; four aunts: Gloria Morgan (Charlie), Muriel  Reeves (Anthony), Edna White (Robert) and Ida Reid; nephews and nieces: Paul, Darnell, Brittani, Marketta, Olivia and Hannah as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Beasley will lie in repose on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 318 Auburn Ave., Pontiac, Michigan.   Family hour will start at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.  Rev. Timothy Lawrence, Jr., officiating.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
