Alverett McCray, born on October 6, 1960, in Pontiac, Michigan to Emmit McCray, Sr. & Maxine McCray who have both preceded him in death, entered eternal rest on June 1, 2026.

Alverett was a product of the Pontiac School System attending both Pontiac Northern High School and Pontiac Central High School, graduating from Pontiac Central High School in 1977.

To mourn his passing, Alverett leaves his sister, Belinda (Allen) Herrod, nephews Dwayne, Dujuan (Keerra) & nieces, Madison, Jordy & nephew, Dujuan, Jr., nieces LaKesha Jackson, Keneta Daniels, Morella Ringgold, Demetria McCray; nephew, Timothy Lucien and host of great nieces and nephews.

Alverett also leaves to cherish his memories, a host of relatives including  Maggie Manning, Cloteal (James) Garrett, their children and a host of other relatives and friends (you know who you are).

Alverett will lie in repose on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.  Final arrangements Entrusted by Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
