Annie Mae Jones was born on March 15, 1924 to Gracie Sumlin and Andrew Isaac in Arcadia, Louisiana.

On August 1, 1940 Annie married John H. Jones and they moved to Pontiac, Michigan, where their union was blessed with two children.

Annie was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years, most recently under Pastor C.K. Bender.

Annie retired from the Pontiac School District where she worked for over 20 years.  Annie loved cooking, doing cross word puzzles, watching TV and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Jones, her parents Gracie Sumlin and Andrew Isaac, ten siblings, her daughter; Kathy M. Jones (Thomas), and her granddaughter La'Fabian Jones.

Annie departed  this life on April 17, 2021, she leaves to cherish her memory, her son, John (Amelia) Jones, grandchildren;  Anitrise Bell and Michael (Spike Jones) Bell, Pinklon (Patrice) Thomas, John Thomas, great grandchildren; Kiavee Rodgers and Robert Rodgers, great great-grandchildren; Ja'Kobe Lewis, Riley Rodgers and Karter Ringstaff.  Special nephew Roy Isaac and special friend Patricia Preacher.  Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Ms. Jones will lie in repose on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral  Home, family hour will start at 10 a.m. prior to the service.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.

As a global concern about Coronavirus (Covid-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 20 people with a distance of 6 feet.
