Bertha Lee Stephens of Pontiac, Michigan peacefully transitioned on April 5, 2026.  A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, "golden girl" and friend.  Bertha was born on October 31, 1950, to the late William and Betty Terry Sr. in Pontiac Michigan.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jewel Stephens Sr.; sisters; Barbara A. Terry, and Linda Stevens.  Bertha was raised in Pontiac, Michigan, attended Pontiac Schools, and graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1968.

Bertha dedicated over 28 years of service to the Pontiac School District where she touched the lives of so many students, staff and those in the community.  Bertha was a faithful member of Welcome Missionary Baptist Church for 50 years!

Bertha leaves to cherish her memory; her Children, Jewel Stephens Jr., Tanoa' (John) Flagler, Tanesha Stephens-Taylor, Tamerra Stephens, Bonus Son; Martel Taylor; Siblings; Dell Coleman, Phyllis Taylor, William Terry Jr. David (Karla) Terry, Sister-in-laws: Ruby Stein (Sam) Robinson, Della Finley, Elberta Stephens, Brother-In-Laws; Rev. Arthur (Velma) Stephens and Terrel Stevens.

Special Aunt; Millie Naylor, Grandchildren; Jewel III, Jewelius, Diamond, Bre'Ana, Braylen, Anaria', Ma'Kenzie, Aalaynah, Aazavier, Aric, Ashton, A'Mahj, Greg, and Great-grandchildren; London, Brandon Jr., Bryson, Amora' and her Grand dog Huncho aka "chicken little," a host of nieces and nephews and her church family.

Bertha Stephens will lie in repose, Monday, April 13, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Ochard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm- 8:00pm.

Celebration of life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Welcome Missionary Baptist Church 143 Oneida St. Pontiac, Michigan, Pastor Douglas P. Jones, officiating.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and service will promptly start at 11:00am.  Interment at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan, immediately after the service.
