McConner, Bettye Jean was born May 26, 1941 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Harry and Nettie Ricks, she made her heavenly transition October 18, 2023.

Bettye's family relocated to Pontiac, Michigan in 1943. She received her formal education through Pontiac Central High School and attended Pontiac Business Institute. She started her career at the UAW Solidarity House as an Administrative Secretary where she would retire after 35 years. She accepted Christ at the age 12 at Trinity Baptist Church by Reverend Richard Dixon.

Bettye leaves to cherish her memories one Granddaughter Tyler McConner of Atlanta, Georgia; one Grandson Tylan McConner of Atlanta, Georgia;  Nephew Shawn Ricks of Detroit, Michigan; Sister-in-Law Delores Williams of Pontiac, Michigan and Lela Ricks of Pontiac, Michigan; Special friend Peggy Hardiman of Pontiac, Michigan and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Bettye McConner was preceded in her death by her parents, Harry and Nettie Ricks; one daughter Pennye McConner; three siblings, Bobby Joe Ricks, Harry Ricks II and Edith (Sunnye) Ricks; and Special Friend Dorothy Arnold

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Rd, Pontiac, Michigan. Repast will be held at Bowens Senior Citizens Center 52 Bagley St, Pontiac, Michigan. There will not be no public viewing.
