Calvin Franklin Elam Sr., of DeBary, Florida departed this life on May 1, 2020 in the home of loving and care of his family in Pontiac, Michigan at the age of 89.   He is the son of the late Glen Elam and Gladys Robinson of Tennessee.  Husband of the late Jeanette Johnson and Dorothy Jones.  He is the brother of Clara Mae Battles, Christine Fox, Jessie Ruth Phillips, Paul Elam and the late Herschel Elam, Ernest Elam, Willie Elam and Freddie Elam.

He is survived by his sons; Tony Elam, Bruce (Maddie) Elam, Calvin Elam, Jr., Donald (Brenda) Elam and daughter; Kathleen (Steve) Johnson, by his grandchildren,  great-grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends.

A Family Gathering will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  Mr. Elam will be laid to rest at Restlawn Cemetery, in Sanford, Florida.

As a global concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking steps necessary to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 10 people with a distance of 6 feet.
