Cordia Ruth
Graham
Nov 18, 1915 — Jul 29, 2019
Cordia Ruth Graham began her journey on November 18, 1915. Her journey came to an end on July 29, 2019, at her home in Pontiac, Michigan. Cordia was born in LaPine, Alabama to the late David and Sinthia Porter, and four siblings all of whom preceded her in death.
She was united in holy matrimony to Willie Lee Graham in 1941and they became the proud parents of three daughters, they moved to Pontiac in 1947 where Cordia successfully raised her family and resumed her education, receiving her high school diploma from Pontiac Adult Education in June of 1983.
Cordia confessed Christ and was baptized in her early years. She was particularly proud of her affiliation with her church, Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, of Pontiac, Michigan, where she was effectionately referred to as "Mother Graham". She served as the County Mother Emeritus, the Women's Rescue, Federation President, and Shepherd Mother. She taught in Triumph's School of Wisdom, and volunteered on the Kitchen Committee, Hospital Visitation Committee, and Prayer Band. Triumph awarded her it's Fifty-Years of Dedicated Service Appreciation for Outstanding Service. In recognition of her 100th birthday. Cordia received greetings from the White House, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence of the United States House of representatives, the State of Michigan of Representatives and the City of Pontiac.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory; her daughters, Juanita (Frank) Baker, Ruth (Jimmie, deceased) Keel and Julia (Kenneth Sanders) Harrold all of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Cordia treasured the time she spent with her family. She was not only dedicated to her daughters, but also played an integral part in the lives of her five grandchildren; Nicole Baker, Jolia (Edward) Hill, Laura Keel, Frank (Laura) Baker, II, and Todd Keel. In her later years, she derived a great sense of joy from spending time with her ten great-grandchildren who lovingly called her "Gran Gran", Imani Keel, Henry Baker, Asa Baker, Isabella Baker, Avery Hill, Amyre Hill, Olivia Baker, Adyson Hill, Auggie Baker and Knox Baker. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.
