Obituary

Daisy Wilkerson was born on May 10, 1928, as an only child of Annie Richardson in Macon, Georgia.  Daisy confessed Christ at an early age and attended a local church. Her mother having medical difficulties, she was mainly raised by a succession of relatives, especially her mother's sister, Carrie Richardson.  When Daisy was eight years old she and her aunt Carrie moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she attended local schools.  Having financial difficulties, Daisy obtained her independence and started working various domestic jobs prior to graduating from middle school.  Daisy continued working until her last job at Highland Park General Hospital closed around 1974.

Several years later she met and married Charlemagne (Charles) Napier and had a son,  Charles Tryone Napier, two years later, Daisy she had a second son, Michael Dale Napier.  She eventually had her only daughter, Angela Denise Napier.  Around 1967, Daisy married Sam Wilkerson, Jr., and moved the family into their first home in 1970.  Sam Wilkerson preceded her in death in March, 1982.

Daisy very much enjoyed family gatherings and cooking holidays meals.  She was also very proficient in various card games, and there was usually a Bid-Whist game following a meal.

Daisy Wilkerson departed this life on June 8, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her mother; Annie Richardson, aunt, Carrie Cole-Richardson, eldest son, Charles T. Napier, daughter-in-laws; Linda Napier and Shelly Baskin-Napier.

Mother leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Michael D. Napier and Angela D. Napier, grandchildren; Shawn A. Napier, Nicole Napier-Randolph, Tekiyama Napier-Armwood, Michael M. Napier, Anthony Napier, Samantha Napier and Obbie Napier, 17 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-Law; Lucretia Johnson.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life for Daisy Wilkerson will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will start at 11:00am and the service will begin at 12:00 pm.
