Obituary

DeWayne Carrothers, 69, of Pontiac, Michigan made his transition on June 14, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Alfred Carrothers and Mary Louise Carrothers, his nephew Kenytta Carrothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Chad Carrothers, Aimee Carrothers, Tyler Carrothers, Dinero Madison and Shenara Madison.  He is survived by his siblings; Douglas Carrothers, Alfreda Carrothers, Jacqueline Carrothers.  Also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, a special friend, Claudette Carrothers and other loving relatives and friends.


DeWayne graduated from Pontiac Central High school and went to trade school to become an Auto Mechanic.  He worked for General Motors for over 30 years and had passions for science-fiction, electronics, and having a delicious desert, like, a Frosty Treat ice cream.

DeWayne lived a purposeful life serving God, helping his family and friends, and lending support to his community.

Mr. Carrothers will lie in repose be on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, MI., from 1:00PM - 6:00 PM.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Southside Church of God, 529 Nebraska Ave, Pontiac, MI.  Family hour will begin at 9:30 AM and the service will promptly start at 10:00 AM.  Pastor Shelton E Matthews, officiating, along with Pastor Suhaliah Talibah.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac,Michigan.
