Sunday evening, November 26, 2023, God in his infinite wisdom looked over the portal of heavens and viewed Dorothy Jean Hill on her sick bed and dispatched host angels to come down and bring his beloved child Dorothy home.

Dorothy Jean Hill was born in Stanton, Tennessee on September 7, 1947 to Rosie Beatrice Hill and Crawford Hill.  She was the first born of five children, her parents relocated the family to Pontiac, Michigan in 1953.  Dorothy is a graduate of Pontiac Central High School and has an MBA from the University of Phoenix.  She retired from Chrysler Motors as a salaried employee.  Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan by Rev. Amos G. Johnson.  There she grew and developed into a God fearing young woman.  Dorothy loved the Lord, her family and friends.  She was a very caring and generous person with everyone she met, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy leaves in God's care, her loving and devoted son, Marcus Darnell Jones of
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, four loving grandchildren, special grandson Joshua Prentice Jones (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) whom she raised from an infant, Myah Jones (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), Madison Jones (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) Marcus Jones, Jr (Defiance, Ohio) and one great granddaughter Camryn Pugh (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), who stole all of her heart; four siblings, Prentice (Marilyn) Hill, Broomhall, Pennsylvania., Carolyn (Alvin) Love, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Janice Hill (Riverview, Florida), Ernest Hill (Riverview, Florida), several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Tracy Hayden-Long, Michael Taylor and Tony Terry.

She will join her first born, Marvin Darnell Jones, her parents and grandparents in heaven.  Dorothy has gone from labor to rest.  She would like for us to remember all the blessed and happy times we had with her.

Ms. Hill will lie in repose on Friday, Dec 1,  2023, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  From 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church 174 Branch St., Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:00am and the service will start at 11:00am.  Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery., Pontiac, Michigan.
