Dorothy Jo Norris (Barbara Bender) was born on June 3, 1939 to the union of Joe and Dorothy Bender in Bay Springs, Mississippi, she departed this life on January 26, 2020.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Pruitt in Pontiac, Michigan, both parents and her son, Gregory Bender in Chicago, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her children; Dale L. (Malissa) Bender and Sandra Page, both in Bay Springs, Mississippi, Charles Bender, Victor Bender and Shaye (LaVonna) Bender all in Pontiac, Michigan, siblings; Fran (Andrew) Norris, Percy J. Norris both in Bay Springs, Mississippi, the late Jose LaCrosby and Johnnie M. Norris both in San Francisco, California and  the late Rosie Lee Norris in Bay Springs, Mississippi.   Also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Dorothy attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, she worked in the Pontiac School System as a Bus Driver and later she went on to work for General Motors until she retired.  She loved her grands, greatgrands and great-great-grandchildren, she enjoyed playing bingo and traveling and in her younger years she would speak her mind.

Ms. Norris will lie in repose on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.    A Celebration of life for Dorothy Jo Norris will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel, family hour will start at 10:30 a.m.
