Dorothy Draper (Smith) was born on November 13, 1946 to the late Louis D. Draper and Mamie L Draper in Pontiac, Michigan.  She was preceded in death by 8 siblings, 3 children and her life partner Alvin Glinn.  She made her transition on July 8, 2026 at home surrounded with family.

Dorothy confessed her hope in Christ at an early age.  She was educated in the Pontiac School District, and attended Michigan State College of Beauty in 1976.  She enjoyed dancing, Roller Skating, and spending time with her siblings, and close friends.

In 1968 She married Willie J. Buckner, In 1977 she married Willis Payne and in 1982
she married Major Smith.  She was the proud mother of 5 children; Donzell Draper (PID)
Michelle Draper (PID), Wanda Draper-Martin of Waterford, MI., William Buckner Sr. (PID) and Vincent Buckner of Pontiac Mi.  Dorothy, also leaves behind two Bonus Daughters; Phoenicia Glinn and Vinola Williams,16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren a loving Brother in Law of over 50 yrs. James Gordon.  Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Dorothy Marie Smith will lie in repose on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, 12pm - 4pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home.  Family hour will begin at 11am and the service will start at 12pm.
