Emma Jene Jenkins was born August 21, 1937 to Myra and Kermit Holmes, Sr. in Tylertown, MS.  Emma and her loving and devoted husband, Julius Jenkins were married for 65 glorious years.

Emma was not a stranger to hard work and perseverance.  After 28 years of committed service, in 1999, Emma retired from Trinity Health Oakland Hospital aka St. Joseph Mercy Hospital-Oakland, in Pontiac, MI.

Although red was Emma's favorite color, she looked well in every color.  Emma was a very classy woman on the inside and outside.  In addition to loving the color red, she also loved her hats.  She was also an avid football lover and the New Orleans Saints was her team!

On Friday, May 19, 2023, God called Emma home from labor to reward.  Emma leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, Julius Jenkins of Pontiac, MI; children, Linda (Anthony) Simpson, Rodney Jenkins, Sr. and Rodney Jenkins, Jr. of Pontiac, MI; sisters, Clemietean Appleberry, Georgia Lammers and Maxine (Johnnie) Colenberg of New Orleans, LA; brother, Kermit Holmes, Jr. of Holly, MI.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents Myra and Kermit Holmes, Sr. and her son Kenneth Jenkins.

Ms. Jenkins will lie in repose on Frday, June 2, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm until 6:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 318 Auburn Ave, Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will start at 10:00am and services will begin at 10:30am.  Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
