Obituary

Eugene Thomas White was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 23, 1935 to the late Littleton & Lula White.  He passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at his home with his wife by his side.   He was preceded in death by his brothers; Littleton Jr. Alexander, Nathaniel, David, Samuel, Roy, Jessie,  Franklin and Vonds, sisters; Rowena, Mary Lawrence, Beverly Ann Burnett, Brother-In-law Jimmy Burnett and a special Sister-In-Law Dorothy White.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was given the foundation of God's principles by his parents.  He loved the lord.

He was united in holy matrimony to Mary L. White and they were blessed to share 65 years of marriage.  To this union two children were born, Eugenia and Anthony White.

He attended and graduated from the Pontiac School district.  He also graduated from Oakland Community College, earning  an Associates Degree.

He retired from Pontiac Motors after 25 years of service.   He served on the City of Pontiac's Employee's Retirement Board as a Trustee and then was later elected to served as Chairman for a total of nineteen years.  He enjoyed listening to jazz, acting, writing, poetry, ballroom dancing and the most of all sharing his wisdom about life and family.  His famous quotes were;  "Follow no pattern but your own and in time you will be strong" and "It's easy to be weak and hard to be strong".

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Mary L. White, two children, Eugenia  (James) White,  Anthony (Theresa) White, Grandchildren, Nikka Hannah, Maurece Peters, Jamar Kinnard, Demere Shelton, and Raylen White.  Eight great grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Special cousin, Gerald Holder and special friend Leroy Moore and a host of other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Memorial Service for Mr. White be will held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  The family will meet with friends at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel.
