Evelyn Kay Kellar was born in Adams, Tennessee on February 28, 1935 to Eddie and Corrine Kellar. She departed this life Peacefully on April 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; James A. Kellar, Teddy Kellar, Phillip M. Kellar, all from Pontiac, MI., and her sister; Norma E. Kellar of Beverly Hills, CA.
Evelyn Confessed Christ at an early age at the Hughes Street Church of Christ under the leadership of Minister R.C. Wells. She enjoyed being a Bible school teacher to the children and they loved her teachings and special surprises on Sunday mornings. Evelyn was full of life and enjoyed traveling to various states to visit family and friends, she was known for her first soprano voice and sometimes chiming in with a little alto, tenor and bass. She was a Great harmoniizer, and enjoyed singing in various Gospel choirs, and they enjoyed having her.
She was also known as Queen Diva, Brown Sugar, and Ms. Love, but most of all she enjoyed being a Child of God, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan for many years and received her education threw the Pontiac School System.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories her four children daughter Dianna L Cole(Jesse A. Cole Sr.) Pontiac, Michigan., son Mark A. Kellar Sr.(Lillian) Pontiac, Michigan., daughter Tammy M. Cormell of Riverside, California., son Brian K. Kellar of Detroit, Michigan., her beautiful sister Murdia D. Branner of Pontiac, Michigan., 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and special friends Annie M. Seay, Betty Hollis and many more friends and love ones.
Evelyn Kay Kellar will lie in repose on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm until 6:00pm.
Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11am at Oakland Church of Christ 23333 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan, family hour will begin at 10:30am. Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
