Faymire Thompson Williams, Sr., (Fish) was born July 16, 1936, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  He was the son to the late John Wesley Thompson, Felmon and Geneva Williams.

Faymire was at the tender age of four when his parents relocated to Pontiac, Michigan.  He accepted Christ into his life at an early age, he received his education in the Pontiac School Systems.

Faymire was not a stranger to no one.  He enjoyed  fishing, that's how he got the nickname Fish.  He also enjoyed cooking and driving fast cars, he loved each of his children, family members, friends unconditionally.   He could always say something to make you laugh and had a smile that would light up a room.

He departed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Kith Haven Nursing and Rehab Center in Flint, Michigan.   He was preceded in death by three daughters; Bernice Donald, Nancy Scott and Andrea Williams-Redwine, two son; Faymire Williams, Jr., and Damon Blue all of Pontiac, Michigan., three sisters; Linda Williams of Pontiac, Michigan., Connie Wooten of Los Angeles, California., Bennie Jean Shonowo of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky., two brothers; Felmon Williams of Pontiac, Michigan and  Benjamin Thompson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

He leaves to cherish his memory, six beautiful daughters; Victoria Williams in Tucson, Arizona, Gwendolyn (James) Swygert in Pine Bluff, Arkansas., Dolores (Dennis) Thompson, Tawanda McGlown and Renee Bradley all in Pontiac, Michigan., Marquisha Williams in Flint, Michigan., four step daughters., Alisa Obom in Flint, Michigan., Constance Turner, Aloho Graham and Jeanette Williams all in Pontiac, Michigan., three handsome sons; Perry Williams in Tucson, Arizona., Tawain Williams and Billy Alexander in Pontiac, Michigan., one step son; Randall Woodward, six sisters; Patricia Gadson in Pontiac, Michigan., Brenda (Bill) Collier of Dumfries, Virginia., Hattie (Kevin) Scribner and Cecilia (Sentor) Brunson in Little Rock, Arkansas., Lauretha Thompson in Pine Bluff, Arkansas., and Ernestine Henry in Dallas, Texas., four brothers; Perry (Joyce) Williams, Sr., in Pontiac, Michigan., Ruben (Babel) Thompson in Worms, Germany., Ricky (Theresa) Thompson in Toledo, Ohio., and Tony Gilbert in Little Rock, Arkansas., seventy grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren,  ten great-great-grandchildren and a special friend Carol Tillman in Flint, Michigan.  Also survived by a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that loved him dearly.

A Family Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan at 12 p.m.  Visitation will start at 11:30 a.m.

As a global concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 10 people with a distance of 6 feet.
