Councilman George Williams was born on August 6, 1957 in Pontiac, Michigan.  He was the Fifth Child of nine siblings to the late Eddie and Annie Ford.  George Williams departed this life on March 22, 2020.

George accepted Christ at an early age at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Dr. Rev. E.L. McCree, Sr.  He graduated from Pontiac Central High School and he continued his education at Oakland University College.  He graduated with a Associate degree in Climate Control Technology.

George strong work ethic started early, he worked for General Motors for 26+ years retiring as a Skilled Labor Supervisor.   His very own Business "George's Williams Heating and Cooling Incorporated ".  He was a Oakland County Reserve Deputy and last but not lease Councilman for the City of Pontiac - District 2.

George was the Previous Exalted Ruler, Trustee of Joint Management Team, Core Contributor to the upkeep, maintenance and repairs of the Lodge/Building,  Main Liaison/Resource Person of I.B.P.O. Elks of The World Sylvan Lk. Lodge #723 and he also worked Diligently with the Daughters of Crystal Temple 435, he was the Assistant Chairperson and member of the Allocation CMTE Team for United Way SE Chapter, Member of the Pontiac Police Trial Board, Member of Citizen of Subcommittee for Sanitation and many other organizations.

George always had a passion for Law, he was elected as the 8th Council 2010-2013, then he was appointed to the 10th Council in November in 2019.  He loved the City of Pontiac, he walked, ate, and talked about the City of Pontiac in how they were going to make a Change!  George Loved and enjoyed his Family, his friends, cooking & all kinds of social gatherings- being the "Social Butterfly" He was...

George leave to cherish his loving daughter LaShann C. (Calvin) Adams-Allen of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and one granddaughter TaMara L. Adams of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  His Brothers and Sisters Diane Williams of Pontiac, Michigan., Leroy (Angela) Williams of Pontiac, Michigan., Elaine Robert Harris of Yelm, Washington., Norma J. (Michael) Ford-Moye of Farmington Hills, Michigan.,  the late Andrew (Myrtle) Williams of Pontiac, Michigan., Kathy (Alfonzo) Williams-Jones of Birmingham, Alabama., Gwendolyn (Harold) Ford-Harris of Birmingham, Alabama., Paulette Ford of Birmingham, Alabama.   Also survived by 20 Nieces and Nephews, 31 Great Nieces and Nephews, 10 Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, Special Friends Michael Lewis, Pam LaVallis, Pete Hayden, Stanley Oliver, Wanda Clayton, Patrice Waterman, Kyle Benion and a host of many more Loving Family and Friends.

A Family Gathering will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
