Gerald Clifton Pogue of Pontiac, Michigan born on Dec 27, 1945 to the union of  the late, Mary Ophelia (Jones) Pogue and Eugene Pogue of Flatlick, Kentucky.  He made his transition on February 3, 2025, and was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Lonnie, Gilbert, Joyce, and his son; Clifton.

He was an animal lover, training many dogs, cats, horses and mules.  He would boast about playing football in Flatlick, Kentucky where he was a standout and potential pro but duty called.  The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio., Gerald enlisted in the Army.

In 1963, Gerald was sent to Germany, Mexico then Vietnam.  In 1968, Gerald returned home now in Detroit, MI.  Gerald and Nuvella Talbot's union produced Gerald Talbot, Clifton, and Anthony Pogue, he was very proud of his sons.  Gerald lived many years in Detroit before relocating to Pontiac, MI.  In 1994 Gerald and Darlene were married and he gained a daughter Nina Chaney aka "Minnie Mouse".   He was proud to have worked for many years in different capacities at the Willow Run Hydramatic GM Plant until he retired.

He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with other family, and friends.  Who holds him in the highest regard as the patriarch of this family.

Mr. Pogue will lie in repose on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm-6:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Prospect Missionary Baptist Church 351 Prospect St. Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am.  Rev Derrick McDonald, officiating.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
