Gwen Deborah (Shurn) Grady, age 67 of Pontiac, Michigan,  completed her mission here on earth and made her transition to glory on Thursday, September 21, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elhue Shurn and Geraldine Elizabeth Fields; two brothers, Gregory and Michael Shurn; and a half-brother Eddie Dewalt.

Gwen accepted Christ into her life at a young age, after high school, she married Roosevelt A. Grady, in which two children were born, Deon and Shenile.  Her creative mind made it possible for her to do many things, such as learning how to sew at a very young age.  Gwen was a vibrant ray of sunshine which it showed through her smile.

Gwen begin working at General Motors in 1977, until 1987.  She went on to work at Kelsey Hayes in 1988 until 1998.  She continued to perfect her seamstress skills, which put smiles on numerous girls faces as she designed and created dresses for proms, homecomings, and weddings.  She went back to School and earned a Certificate as a Massage Therapist, also taught herself how to make jewelry.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Deon Terrell Grady and Shenile Deshawn Grady, sisters; Donna Jean Gee, Carleen Kaye Shurn and Darlene Raye Shurn, Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  Also survived by her uncle, Cecile Fields of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Gwen will lie in repose on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.  From 2:00pm until 7:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills, 3655 N. Squirrel Road, Auburn Hills, Michigan.  Internment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
