Helen Beecher (born Williams), fondly known as "Mommie" to her family, was born February 13, 1930 to the late Medella and Elmus Williams (MacIntosh) in Marksville, Louisiana.

Helen grew up in Marksville, Louisiana with seven sisters and a brother.  She moved to Michigan in 1956 and was employed in the Dietary Department for thirty-two years at Crittenton Hospital.

She was a faithful and longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic church, and St. Vincent De Paul Catholic church (now known as St. Damien of Molokai).

Helen's favorite pastimes were gardening in her yard, cooking amazing feasts for the holidays, and watching Detroit Tiger Baseball and Detroit Pistons Basketball.

Her claim to fame was her amazing gumbo.  She was a person who always opened her heart and home to family and friends when needed.

She was preceded in death by her brother Cleveland and sisters Olla, Beryl, Lue Bertha, Odella, Tessie and husband Thomas Beecher (united in holy matrimony July 7, 1986).

She leaves to celebrate her life and honor her memory, sisters Callie Williams and Lessie McGlory, daughters Sandria Archer (David), Gloria Taylor (late Bernard), Veronica Lavallais, and the late Johanna Pinckney (Rev. John).  Also, granddaughter's Erika Nagel (Jeff), Shavon Ferrell (Robert), grandson's David Lavallais, Sean Archer, John Pinckney Jr., Jamel Taylor (Kelly) the late Jeremy Taylor and a host of great grandchildren.

Viewing will be in the chapel of Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am.  Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 4401 Nelsey Road, Waterford, Michigan.
