James Arthur Grandberry of Rochester Hills, Michigan was born on April 14, 1943 in Covington, Tennessee to the late James H. Grandberry and Anna Bertha Burrell Grandberry.   He was called to rest on April 13, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Naydine Purty Grandberry, his first born son, Leslie Emile and his first born grandson, Willie Lee Payne Jr.,

He leaves to mourn his three daughters and sons-in-law; Clarissa and Willie L. Payne, Anissa and Kevin L. Hillman, Jameane and Christopher Bouie, grandchildren; Queara Payne, Raymond Payne, Gabrielle Hillman and Christa Bouie, siblings; Curtis (Ernestine) Grandberry, Frank (Norma) Grandberry, Rev. Lawrence (Daisey) Grandberry and Helen Ann (Landy) Scott.

Mr. Grandberry will lie in repose on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac, Michigan from 12:00pm until 7:00pm.

Celebration of life for James Arthur Grandberry will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11:00am at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church 404 Ceasar E. Chavez Ave., Pontiac, Michigan, family hour will start at 10:00am.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
