Janice Marie (Smith) Herring age 79 of Pontiac, MI, departed this life on Saturday, September 16, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee Brantley and Samuel Edward Smith, one brother, Abraham.

Janice was an amazing orchid filled with grace, beauty, and strength that embodied a full bloom.  When she married her husband John Louis Herring, Jr., they together raised thirteen beauitful children during their sixty years of marriage.

She was an incredibly loving wholesome person whose smile would ignite a comforting warmth within anyone. She cherished every moment of life, and absolutely loved spending time with her family.

Janice will live on in the treasured memories of her husband, John Louis Herring, Jr., her children, Valerie (Herring) Buck, John (Krystal), Thomas (Tracey), Terrance "Terry", Melonie, Angela, Gaven (Tikka), Jason, Godfrey, Shannon, Aaron (Tinika), Jennifer and Faith, grandchildren, Jordan, Jalen (Makenzie), JuWuan, Joshua, Johnathan, Kahya, Thomas, Jr. "TJ",  Matthew C, Anthony "Bop", Sarayah, Matthew H, Cole, Phoenix, Yesmyne, Jason Jr., Shayla, Sarena, Dylan, Zuri, Morgan and Lauren.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends.

Celebration of life for Janice Marie Herring will be held at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and service will start at 11:00am.  Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, MI.
