Obituary

Janie Mae Dudley-Ware was born in Monroe, Louisiana on January 23rd 1956 to the late, William Kelly and Mary Lee Ware.  She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Samuel Ware, Johnnie Foster, Glory Bouie and Johnny Green, Jr.  Janie made her transition on April 17, 2024, at her home surrounded with family.

She later moved to Pontiac, Mi. with her sister Willie Keller who raised her.  Janie graduated from Pontiac Central High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1978.

Upon graduating from MSU, Janie obtained a full time position with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and retired after more than 35 years of dedicated service.  She met Lawrence Dudley while working at the Sheriff's department in 1984.  They later married and two beautiful children were born, Adrian and Anthony were her pride and joy.

Janie enjoyed reading, wine tasting and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed traveling, sports and loved her alma mater.  Janie was a member of the family Paradise club in which she held the office of secretary.  Janie really enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues until her health no longer permitted.

Janie's health began to decline in 2019. During her health challenges she received help, love and support from the nurses at Better Health, her doctors and the hospice caregivers.

Janie leaves to continue her legacy, her two sons Adrian and Anthony Dudley, Pontiac, MI., granddaughter Ariane Dudley, Pontiac, MI. , bonus grandson; Kai Burton Pontiac, MI. , siblings; Willie Keller, Pontiac, MI. , William (Sarah) Ware, Austell, GA. , Robert (Patricia) Johnson, Monroe, LA. , Eric (Paulette) Brimm, Pontiac, MI. , Osborn Winston, Houston, TX. , Linda Darrington, Monroe, LA. , special friends; Person Rochon-Voettcher and Dawn Wilson.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Janie Mae Dudley will lie in repose on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Missionary Baptist Church 351 Prospect St. Pontiac, Michigan., Pastor Derrick McDonald, officiating.  Family hour will begin at 10:30 a.m.
