Jeannie Mae Simpson was the first born of four children, born on February 1, 1961, to Ruby Simpson-Warren in St. Louis, Missouri and was adopted by her great-aunt and uncle, Mattie (Wade) Jones, effectionately known as Mama and Daddy.  Jeannie transitioned on August 5, 2023 at the age of 62, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Pontiac, Michigan.

She was raised in Pontiac, MI., with Mattie and Wade Jones and their children of nine.  Jeannie attended Pontiac Central High School and later on in life she continues her education at Baker College, where she studied to become a counselor, to aid others in their everyday trails and tribulations and their personal encounters with Mental Health.  Jeannie also has a love for the "Lord Jesus Christ" and she was a long time member at New Mount Moriah International Missionary Baptist Church, where she was known for her Evangelistic/Prophetic call.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Simpson-Warren, her adopted parents; Mattie and Wade Jones, grandson; Jajuan Senter, her daughters father; Henry Paul Hill, siblings; Faye Jones, Isaac Jones, Marvin Jones, Wade Jones, Jr., David Jones, Gary Jones, McKinley "Jab" Jones and Dorothy Mae Jones-LaMotte, nephews and nieces; Ronald  'Ron" LaMotte, Davonte Whitlock, Mark "Markie" Jones, Dalvin Whitlock and Zina "Z" LaMotte.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her children;  Sha'Ron Simpson of Flint, Mi., Dewayne "Tee" Simpson of Pontiac, MI., brothers; Robert "Bob" Jones of Pontiac, MI., Major Frank (Karen) Warren, Jr., of Chicago, ILL., sisters; Sonia Whitlock and Lenora Whitlock, both of Chicago, ILL, uncles; Richard Simpson of Pontiac, MI., Gilbert Simpson of California and Robert Simpson of Oregon.  Also a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends who will live on to cherish her memories.

Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at New Mount Moriah International Church 313 Walton St. Pontiac, MI.  Family hour will start begin at 10:00am and services will start at 11:00am.  Bishop William H. Murphy, Jr., officiating.
