Jessie James Bass, Sr. of Pontiac, MI. departed this life on March 31, 2018. He was married to Lanie Bass for 53 years. He was preceded in death by his father the late; Eddie (Joyce) Bass, Sr. and his mother the late; Bernice (Johnny) Harris. He is the father of; Ellen Bussey of Little Elm, TX, Donna (Shelton) Martin, Jessie James Bass, Jr., Cynthia Bass and Danita (Michael) Dixon all of Pontiac, MI, and the late; Jayson Bass of Pontiac, Mi. Mr. Bass leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings; Dorothy (Allen) Forest of Lima, OH, Sandra (Jeffrey) Moss of Charleston, West Va, Jackie D. (Johnny) Richardson, Katherene H. Bass, Melissa Ann Bass all of Tamarac, FL, Kim (Bass) Straighter of Dunbar, FL, Eddie Bass, Jr. and Kenneth Bass, Jr. of Holden, West Va, Anthony Bass of Kentucky, Robert (Katherine) Harris of Arizona, Phillip (Diane) Ward of Pontiac, MI, Johnny (Hope) Harris, Jr. of Alabama, Paul (LaDonna) Harris of Pontiac, MI, and the late; Walter Bass and Harry Bass, Jr. Mr. Bass has twenty granchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one special daugther-in-law Nicole Elslick. He is also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends. Mr. Bass worked for General Motors as an Electrician. He was a member of KAPPA ALPHA PSI PONTIAC CHAPTER.

Mr. Jessie James, Sr. will lie in repose on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan. From 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Bass's Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
