John Ray Richards of Pontiac departed this life on April 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late; Anthony Richards, Sr. & Louisa Davis-Richards. He is the father of; Kirkland (Shantel) Marion, Kenneth Marion, Keith Marion, Kim Marion and the late; Karen Spruill. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings; Spencer A. Richards of Palacka, FL, Ernest (Annette) Richards of Tuskegee, Ala, Elnora Howard of New Britain, CT, Clara Richards-Tillman of Soperton, GA, and the late; Willie, Jr. Richards, Corinthians Richards, James Richards, Mary Jane, Nellie Mae and Ola, Mae. He is the grandfather of seven, great-grandfather of three. A special aunt Odessa Eason, Valdosta, GA. and three brother-in-laws; Ceabon Jackson, Elder John (Veda) Toler of Soperton, GA, and John Toler. Also survived by many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual brothers and sisters in christ.

Mr. Richards was born in Montgomery County, GA. He graduated from Treutlen County Training School, Soperton, GA, in May 1964. He persued a career with Treutlen County hospital, before moving back to Pontiac, MI. In 1966. He was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church of Pontiac, MI. Served as a Deacon and sang with the Male Chorus. Also worked in Home Health Care and on board at Pontiac Housing Commission.

Mr. John Ray Richards Memorial Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.
