Johnny O'Neal Herron was born on March 4, 1939, to the late Simm Herron and Lettie Shaw in Gilbert Louisiana.  He passed away on December 20, 2024, at McLaren Hospital, Pontiac, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Benny Eloby; siblings; Joseph Herron, Matlena Coleman, Irene Jackson, Charlie Herron, Clarence Herron, Isiah Shaw, Lessie Cooks, Pearline Herron, Evelyn Herron, General (Annet) Jackson, Jr., Irene Green, Azaline Herron, Rosaline Herron, Madeline Green, Bessie Shaw, Charlie Green and I.C. Herron.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sons ; Dr. Michael (Joyce) Herron, Decatur GA, Darryl (Kimberly) Herron of Leo, IN, Neal Herron of Pontiac, MI and John Thomas of Detroit, MI., 7 grandchildren; Daniel Herron, Decatur GA, Brian Herron, Austin TX, Destiny Herron, Atlanta, GA, Victoria Herron, Leo, IN and Sean Brownlee, Waterford, MI, Kiesha Jones, Pontiac MI and Jermaine Eloby, Pontiac, MI. 4 great grand-children; Paris Close, Jelani Strong, Hannah Vequilla and Sean Brownlee, Jr.  Siblings; Ernestine Rainge, Roberta Brown, Ometta Blakemore, Almeda Allen, Sallie Wiley, Willie (Pauline) Shaw. He is also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mr. Herron will lie in repose on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, MI., from 12:00pm-6:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00am, at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am.  Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
