Judith (Judy) Ann Peoples was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 16, 1956 to the late James and Nora Lee Williams. After a lengthy illness, our precious Judy was called to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday morning, July 20, 2024.
Judy was united in Holy matrimony to Derrick Peoples at an early age and from this union they were blessed with one son, Deon Lamonte Peoples.
Judy received her academic education in the public schools in Pontiac, Mi. She later went on to obtain her Associates Degree at Oakland Community College in Pontiac, Mi., majoring in Childcare Development. Judy started her work career at the State Hospital in Pontiac, Mi., until she transferred to Hawthorne Center where she worked numerous years until she retired in 2011.
Judy was former member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully with the Mission Ministry and Senior Care Ministry. Judy moved to River Rouge, Mi. where she started attending Union Second Baptist Church under the leadership of the former Pastor Kenneth L. Brown.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Deon Lamonte Peoples (Ebony), four grandchildren, Deon Jr. (DJ), Derrick, De'Onnie, DeAira, Mar'Rion and Amari, and 7 great grandchildren. Judy is also survived by three sisters, Wandalean Williams, Cynthia M. Bell (Derrick), Angela, two brothers, James Williams Jr., Benjamin Sherrill (Demetria); one uncle, David Williams (Elnora) and one aunt, Jessica Woods (Frank) and other loving relatives and friends.
Ms. Peoples will lie in repose on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 512 Pearsall St. Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.
Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 512 Pearsall St. Pontiac, Michigan. Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy, officiating. Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am. Internment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
