On the 28th of April, 1965, God saw fit to illuminate and begin the life of his daughter, KECIA LEE BROWN at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the eldest of three daughters born to the union of the late Robert (Sy) Green and Juanita.

Kecia was an avid Bible reader and attended church until her health declined.

Kecia was educated in Pontiac Public Schools; Pontiac Catholic School and graduated from Lahser High School in 1983.

While at Lahser High School, Kecia was a member of the Track & Field team and excelled in the 100-yard dash. She set a school record that has been tied only once and is yet to be broken.

Kecia loved fishing, bowling, casinos, and cooking. She enjoyed playing cards, but not with her husband. Her greatest joys were being the big sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her employment included various positions for the Pontiac School District.

Kecia met the love of her life, Issic Brown while on a field trip in elementary school. She told his mother that she was going to marry him one day.  In the 10th grade their love was rekindled and on November 9,1985 they were united in Holy Matrimony.

On Monday, August 21, 2023, as Kecia slept peacefully, her spirit was released back into the arms of her heavenly father. While she will be eternally missed on this side of heaven, we rest assured and are encouraged that she is safe in God's arms.

KECIA'S spirit will continue to live through her husband of 38 years, Issic; her daughters, Ebony (Devonti) Jackson; Essence Brown, and Elexus Brown; her mother Juanita Green; sisters Lisa and Leah Green; grandchildren Travis Brown, Kourtney Dickerson, Messiah Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Carson M. Wilson, and Shiloh Jackson; bonus daughter Kayla Jarrells; brothers-in-laws Ivan and Rodney Brown; sister-in-law, Yolanda Patton; Aunt Shirley Green, cousin Marniesha Howard and a host of other family members and friends. Special thanks to the Trinity Hospice Care Team; Caregivers Joyce Taylor and Regina Haynes.

Kecia is preceded in death by her father Robert (Sy) Green and grandmother Agnes Lewis.

Mrs. Brown will lie in repose on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm until 6:00pm.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 394 Howland St. Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will start at 11:00am.  Rev. Solomon Smith, Jr. officiating.
