Kenneth Smith of Pontiac, Michigan departed this life on March 1, 2019.  He was born April 24, 1949 to the late Edward C. &  Eldora Smith, he was the 4th of six children.  He attended the Pontiac School District.  He retired after working 20 years with the City of Pontiac, Deparment of Public Works (Water Department).   Kenneth excepted christ at an early age,  on April 23, 1994 he married his soulmate Janice Tyms.  In his free time he enjoyed detailing cars, fishing with Bob Jones and playing cards.  In his earlier years he was an active member of the Free Masons.

Kenneth is survived by his wife; Janice Tyms, his son Kenneth Smith, Jr., his daughters Keza (Eric) Sharp and Kristie Tarpley, sisters; Augusta Upshaw, Shirley Smith ( Kenneth "Bowlegs") Simpson and Carolyn Reed, four grandchildren, his closest friends; Hillary (Mary) Robertson and Robert (Bob) Jones.  Also a host of other loving relatives.  He was preceded in death by his brothers; James Hunt and Alfred Smith, a special nephew Michael Upshaw, his Father and Mother-In-Law William "Big Tyms" and LaVerne Tyms.

Memorial Services for Mr. Kenneth Smith will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  The family will meet with friends at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to the service.
