Keyshawn Lavon
Howze
Jan 9, 1997 — May 26, 2026
Keyshawn Lavon Howze was born January 9, 1997 in Pontiac, Michigan to Jake Lavon Howze and Tracy Denise Smith. He was the youngest of three. Keyshawn departed this life on May 26, 2026, of natural causes. Keyshawn fought a good fight and was well within himself. Keyshawn accepted Christ while dealing with this sickness, never gave up, and always kept a positive attitude and constant faith in the lord. He attended Pontiac High School in Pontiac, Michigan, and graduated in 2015.
Keyshawn was in a special relationship with Laquitta Johnson in which they shared a son, Chance Lavon Howze.
Keyshawn was employed at Priority Management where he gave 2 ½ years of service. Keyshawn loved to dress to impress, crack jokes, dance around being foolish, ride motorcycles, roller skate, and drive fast, but most of all, he loved his family and taking care of his son. Fatherhood was very important to him, and he only wanted what was best for his son.
Keyshawn was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Allen and Lorine Smith and Mildred Howze Campbell, aunts Sandra Smith and Melanie Wynemia Howze-Nelson, and uncle Clifton Howze.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Chance Lavon Howze, parents, Jake Lavon Howze and Tracy Denise Smith, siblings, Latoya Smith and Devanta Howze, nieces and nephews, Harmony and Sy'aire Howze, and Jeremiah and Hon'ysti Griffin, special friend, Laquitta Johnson, and a host of aunts and uncles, relative and friends.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:30am at New Experience Church of Christ 575 E. Pike St. Pontiac, Michigan, Bishop Antonio Gibson, officiating.
