Larry  D. Mitchell of Pontiac, Michigan was born on March 23, 1951 to the late Ollie Sr. and Mary Mitchell,  God called him home on June 1, 2018.  Larry leaves to cherish his memories his wife,  Betty Mitchell and his children;  Larry "Bay Bay" Mitchell, Jamillah (Shawn) Mitchell-Evans, and LaShaia (Mintay) Mitchell-Fields.  Siblings, William (Pamela) Mitchell, Carla (Albert) Carmouche, LaWanda King, Mark (Tanya) Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Marietta Mitchell and Nicole Mitchell.  Proceeded in death by his siblings; Ollie Mitchell, Jr., Bradford Mitchell and Keith Mitchell.  He had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.  Also a host of loving In-laws, relatives and friends.

Larry was educated in Pontiac and Port Huron public school system.  He accepted Christ at an early age, baptized by Rev. Willie Elam, Sr. at Christ Temple Church of Pontiac, Michigan.  He worked at Pontiac Motors Division for years.  He donated to many charities to help children.  He was also a member supporter of the NAACP.  His family was his life that he loved very much, he loved, taught and protected  his children and grandchildren and had a special great grandchild that loved him so much.  He was an artist, a fabulous cook and a jack of all trades.  He loved life and lived life to the fullest.

Mr. Mitchell will lie in repose on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.  From  2 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Mr. Mitchell's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home.  The family will meet with friends at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
