Lemmie Jo Morris was born on February 7, 1936, in Cape Giradeau, Missouri, to the late; Lemuel and Josephine Roberts.  She departed this life on November 6, 2024, she was preceded in death by her husband; Joe Morris, her parents, two brothers; Willie and Bruce Roberts.

She attended Pontiac Schools., in 1963, she was joined in marriage to Joe Morris, from this union two children were born.  Lemmie loved children and worked as a Chilcare Provider for many years, she also enjoyed going to the casino, playing card games and traveling.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her two children; Yolanda (Cornelius) Herring and Melvin (Wanda) Morris of Smyrna, TN., her sister; Daythal (Frank) Morris, grandchildren; Jalen Herring, Jamel and Nylah Morris.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins and four sisters-in-laws.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church 174 Branch St. Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:00am and the service will immediately start at 10:30am., Pastor Keyon S. Payton, officiating.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
