Leola Burks Lanehart of Pontiac, Michigan was born on March 13, 1930 to the late Samuel  Reese Burks and Mary Bell Craig Burks in Shelby, Mississippi., she departed this life on February 2, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noah Lanehart, Sr., and her son Noah Lanehart, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Leedora (Jimmie) Bester, Maxine Abraham, Mae Rice, Vera (Howard) Watkins, Sidney (Irene) Lanehart, Sr., Dianne Johnson and Beatrice Lanehart Harris.  Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mama lived at 1258 Amos, in Pontiac, Michigan for 17 years, she loved to cook, entertain, watch basketball, especially her Pistons, even on their worst nite they still played a good game.

Mother Leola Burks Lanehart will lie in repose on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan from 12 p.m. until  8 p.m.   In honor of Leola Burks Lanehart a Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel, family hour will start at 10:30 a.m.
