Obituary

Ms. Loretta Traylor was born to George and Ollie Young on May 18, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee.   At the age of 15, Loretta relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. , At the age of 17, she relocated to New York City to live with her father George, where she competed school and worked at EW Woolworth 5 and dime store as a cashier and also worked as a Government Agent  for Headstart in Harlem.

Loretta came to visit her mother in Pontiac, Michigan, where she met and married Woodrow Russell.  They later moved back to New Yotk City where Woodrow was laid to rest, after the death of her husband Loretta returned to Pontiac, Michigan with her children, where she worked as a Lay Supervisor at Herrington School in Pontiac, Michigan.   Loretta was baptized in 1978 in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost at New Liberty Apostolic Church, under the Leadership of the late David Lee Allison.   She served as a Choir Director, Nurse, Missionary and Mother of the church.  Loretta later met Richard Traylor and they were married on August  26, 1993.

Loretta Traylor departed this life on October 27, 2019, she was preceded in death by her parents, George S. Young, Sr., and Ollie Young Cooper, her husband, Woodrow Russell; her sisters, Odessa McFarland (Willie), Geraldine Burrell (Samuel), her brother, George Young, Jr., (Ella Mae), her daughter, Evangelist Angela Russell, son-in-law, Issac Morris and nephew Martez Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ivan (Jeanett) Russell, Gail (Keith) Rodgers, Cheryl (Richard) Calvin, Terri (William) Johnson and Jane (David) Morris.   Also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A public viewing will take place on Sunday November 3, 2019 between the hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00pm at Cobbs Funeral Home, 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac MI. 48341. A service in her honor will be held on Monday November 4, 2019 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church which is located at 299 Bagley Street, Pontiac Michigan.
