Obituary

**Louvenia Williams** was born on **January 25, 1944**, in Greenville, Mississippi, to her parents, **Eddie Wilson Sr.** and **Isadora (Wright) Wilson**, who preceded her in death. Louvenia was called to her Heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on **Monday, June 8, 2026**.

Louvenia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at **New Hope Church** under the leadership of **Rev. J. L. Kimble** in Greenville, Mississippi.

She received her education in the Greenville Public School System. She worked for many years as a secretary at Drake's Plumbing. In 1979, she relocated to Pontiac, Michigan, with her husband and children.  Louvenia, affectionately known as "Lou," retired from the Silverdome's *The Main Event*,  known as an exceptional chef.  Lovenia joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in 2005.

Louvenia leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, **Henry Williams** of Pontiac, Michigan; her children: **Rhonda Herring (Edward)** of Detroit, Michigan; **Cornelius Herring (Yolanda)** of Redford, Michigan; **Taquana Butler (Alfonso)** of Pontiac, Michigan; and **Anitra Herring (Toshia)** of Louisville, Kentucky, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Flora Giles and Arrine Hay, brothers, Carl Wilson, Frazier Wilson, Melvin (Sue) Wilson, Sr. and Larry Wilson, also a host nieces, nephews other loving relatives and dear friends.

Louvenia was preceded in death by her parents, **Eddie and Isadora Wilson** of Greenville, Mississippi; three sisters, **Thelma Wilson**, **Elmira Wilson** of Greenville, Mississippi, and **Mary Alice Wilson** of Pontiac, Michigan; three brothers, **Charles Young** of Columbus, Georgia, **Eddie Wilson Jr.** of Greenville, Mississippi, and **Freddie Wilson** of Greenville, Mississippi; three sisters-in-law, **Sallie Mae Young** of Columbus, Georgia, **Willie Mae Wilson** of Greenville, Mississippi, and **Barbara Wilson** of Greenville, Mississippi; and two brothers-in-law, **Brentin Hay** of Pontiac, Michigan, and **Sylvester Giles** of Pontiac, Michigan.

Louvenia Williams will lie in repose on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 474 University Dr. Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00 - 6:00pm.

Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 474 University Dr. Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 10:00am and the service will start promptly at 10:30am.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan, immediately after the service.
