Obituary

Magdalene Mayfield Moore, was born on August 16, 1928, in Caruthersville, Missouri to the Parents of Mr. Jesse and Mrs. Alberta Mayfield. Magdalene was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Aunt and Friend. Magdalene made her transition peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James Moore and her siblings; Jesse Mayfield Jr., Mary Mayfield, Robert Mayfield, Wallace Mayfield and Verna Bello.

Magdalene attended grade school in Forrest City, Arkansas, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She attended Bishop College in Marshall, Texas and graduated in 1950, with a BA Degree in Social Studies, with a Minor in Education.  While working as an Elementary Teacher she attended the University of Arkansas and received a Master's Degree in Education.

Magdalene married James Moore in June of 1962. He was the love of her life. Magdalene spent most of her adult life living in Saint Louis, Missouri and working as an elementary School.

Magdalene is survived by her siblings; Lisa Casselberry and Mark Mayfield, her nieces; Toni Miles, LaTonya "Renee" (Dwayne) Miles, Lisa (Ronnie) Pryor, Melody Bailey and Atonya Mayfield, and her nephew; Robert "Bobby" Mayfield.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Magdalene Moore will lie in repose on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Cobb's Funeral Home, family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will start at 11:00am.  Internment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, Michigan, immediately after the service.
