Obituary

Marvin Dwayne (Hill) Jones

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for by God himself and not by humans hands.  2 Corinthians 5:11

Thursday evening, April 9, 2020 God in His infinite wisdom looked over the portal of Heaven and viewed Marvin Dwayne Jones and dispatched host angels to come and bring His beloved child home.

Marvin Dwayne Jones of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 3, 1963.  He is the son of Dorothy Hill Jones and Cecil Jones.  This beautiful child was their oldest of two.  His brother Marcus is his younger sibling.  Marvin accepted Christ at age 8 and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan by Pastor Amos G. Johnson.  Marvin grew and developed into a wonderful husband, father, son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend.  Marvin was educated in the Pontiac Public School for the first few years and then attended and graduated from Holy School in Birmingham, Michigan and Shrine Catholic High School & Academy in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Marvin was united in holy matrimony with Irene Long in 1990.  To their union was added one wonderful son; Joshua Prentice Jones.  Marvin enjoyed attending movies, church, watching and attending athletics events (especially basketball), but, most of all he loved his son, mother, father, grandparents, (especially grandfather Crawford), aunts, uncles, cousins and friends (too numerous to list).

Marvin leaves in God's care his son Joshua; mother Dorothy; father Cecil; brother Marcus; Marcus children and granddaughter Myah, Madison, Marcus, Jr., and Camryn; sister Moneka Sanford; Moneka's sons; Justin and Girard; special aunts Carolyn (Alvin) Love & Janice Hill; special uncles; Prentice (Marilyn) Hill; Ernest Hill & Anthony Thompson; special cousins; Melvin Holmes, Sheila (Phillip) Hill Petrie, M.D., Corey (Amber) Hill, Stephanie Hill & Kimberly Love Morris; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He has already been reunited in heaven with his grandparents; Rosie and Crawford Hill, Jessie and Willie Jones; Leon and Dell Thompson and biological father, Earl Thompson.

Rest in peace.  Your smile and warm personality is already is being missed.   LOVE YOU Marvin.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.  Romans 8:28
