Mother Mary Lillian Foster was born on February 7, 1924 to the late Willie Ed Watkins and Ethel Lillian Smith in Columbia Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Whittaker, Sr., and Lionel Howard Foster, Sr., her son, Thomas Whittaker, Jr. and grandson, Thomas Lee Ward.

Mother Mary touched many souls through teaching Sunday school at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for 50 plus years.

Mother Mary departed this life on February 20, 2022, she leaves many to cherish her memories; her children, Carlotta Whittaker Green, Carolyn Whittaker, Lynne Foster Bozeman Settles and Lionel Foster, her grandchildren; Kitt Whittaker Dudley, Brandon Whittaker, Jessica Mitchell, Nia Bozeman, Ashanti Bozeman, Julian Foster and Briana Foster.  Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 512 Pearsall St., Pontiac, Michigan, family hour will start at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.  Rev. Terrance Gowdy, officiating.  Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
