Mary Lillie Graham was born September 29, 1927, in Wilmington, North Carolina to parents Napolion Davis and Mary Hudson Davis. At the age of 16, she graduated as Class Salutatorian from Williston High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. On February 25, 1947, Mary wed the late Rev. Thomas Lloyd Graham and moved to Pontiac, Michigan, where they raised a family. Early morning on Monday, March 27, 2023 Mary went to rest from her labor for eternity.
For more than 70 years, Sis. Graham was an active member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, where she fufilled many roles. She loved springtime, plants and flowers and she has cuttings in her yard from the yards of many friends. Sis. Graham was also a skilled seamstress, a local beautician and worked in several other occupations, retiring from Oakland University after 23 years.
Blessed with more than 95 years of life, Sis. Graham was preceded in death by her husband, first born son James Thomas Graham, first born daughter Beverly Jean Stubbs, parents, six siblings, a special niece and one grandchild.
Mary leaves to carry on her legacy three children; Larry Jerome (Yvette) Graham, Sr., Geraldine Ellyse Graham and Gregory Renard (Dr. Sarita) Graham, Jr., grandchildren; Adrienne R. Davis, Larry J. Graham, Jr., Ariella Graham, Terrance Graham, Gregory R. Graham, Jr., Darian Williams, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Ms. Graham will lie in repose on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm until 6:00pm.
Celebration of the life of Mary Lillie Graham will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00am at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church 250 Fisher St., Pontiac, Michigan, family hour will start at 10:30am. Rev. Dr. Rodney N.Tolbert,. Sr. Pastor, officiating. Internment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
