Mary Ellen Williams of Pontiac, Michigan was born on February 11, 1929 in Norwood, Louisiana to Sidney Wilson, Sr., & Mariah Pratt, and departed this life on September 8, 2019.   She attended Inverness High School in Inverness, Mississippi.  On April 18, 1948, Mary Ellen Wilson married Bennie Williams and moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1953.  To this union were six children; Pearlie B. Wilson-Brooks (Fred) deceased; Bennie Williams, Jr., (deceased); Donald R. Williams, (deceased) (Kathryn) of Pontiac, Michigan; Roy A. Williams, (Daisy), of Fairport, New York Andre D. Williams, (Angela) of Wayne, Michigan; and Edwin A. Williams, of Flint, Michigan.  Mary accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Pontiac, Michigan in 1954.

Mary was the proud sister of Annie Lee Bell, Freddie Wilson, Leola Thomas and R.L. Wilson, (Derotha), (all who proceeded her in death). She leaves to mourn two brothers; Sydney Wilson, Jr., (Lakeland, Florida), and Eddie Wilson, (Pontiac, Michigan); 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Ms. Williams will lie in repose on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.    Mary Ellen William's Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church 299 Bagley St., Pontiac, Michigan.  The family will meet with friends at 10:00 a.m. at the Church prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest at Perry Mt Park Cemetery of Pontiac, Michigan.
