Maurice Mays "Reesie" of Pontiac, Michigan departed this life on September 26, 2023.  He was born on April 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Clide and Louella Mays.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clide Mays, Sr., brothers; Clide Mays, Jr.,and Johnnie Mays, son; Maurice Mays, Jr., and nephew; Melvin Mays

He relocated to Pontiac, Michigan and graduated from Pontiac Central High School.  Maurice was a proud veteran of the United States Marines where he served from 1964 until 1977.  He went on and enrolled at Oakland Community College and received his Associates Degree in Nursing.

He loved watching the Detroit Tigers, and  enjoyed watching cooking shows to learn new recipes.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his mother, Louella Mays, children; Lawrence (Sonja) Rodgers, Jamialh Page and Maurice Mays, II, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, a special friend Linda Charters and family.  Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begint at 11:00am and the service will start at 12:00pm.
