Mayetta was born to James and Alice Curry in Mason, TN, on July 12, 1940.  She departed this life on July 14, 2023, in San Tan Valley, Arizona.  She was surrounded by her daughter Quinn, her grand puppy Benji, family and close friends.

Her family re-located to Pontiac, Michigan.  May was educated in the Pontiac School System and work for Pontiac Motors and the Pontiac School District until retirement.

She stressed education, developing a good work ethic and maintaining financial security to all that listened.  She loved her family and would help encourage and support any of them, she also love gardening, travelling, visiting family and exploring new places, her favorite thing to do was to just "ride".  May would also tell you what was on her mind.

Mayetta was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Curry, siblings; Henrietta Potts, Shirley Webb, William Curry, Luther Curry, Mary Alice Jones, Leola Curry, Leroy Barber and John Russell Payne.

Mayetta leaves to cherish in her memories, her daughter; Vivian (Quinn) Martin, her sister; Louise Curry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

May touched a lot of lives by teaching them how to work and establish a trade and is loved by many for her unselfish and giving ways.

Ms. Martin will lie in repose on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm til 4:00pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church 250 Fisher St. Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will start at 10:30am and service will begin at 11:00am.  Internment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
