Minnie Ola Mahone was born to Grover and Sarah Leatrice Mack on May 31, 1931, she made her  transition on November 30, 2020.

She attended St. Rest CME Church during her youth, in Homer, Louisiana and this is where she met the Lord.  As a young graduate from Homer colored High School (now Mayfield High), in 1951, she had the opportunity to move to Pontiac, Michigan with her favorite uncle, Andrew Jackson.  Often she spoke of the relief she felt to get away from the hot, sweltering, humid Climate in Louisiana.

In Michigan, Minnie met and fell in love with the late Howard Patterson Mahone.  This union produced five children, Thressa Lynn Mahone who preceded her in death 2017, Sha-Ron Mahone Tolbert, Howard C. Mahone, Diane Mahone Guy and Gwendolyn Mahone, who lived for just a couple of days.

She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan for over 50 years, Under the leadership of The late Pastor Amos G. Johnson, more recently Rev. Keyon S. Payton is Pastor.

Minnie served diligently at her church over the years and was best known for her many talents, she donated her time at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church's homeless shelter and was best known for her Zucchini bread, banana nut bread and pecan pie.  They were always a hit at the church bake sale. She worked at Pontiac General Hospital for over 33 years, where she received an award for Employee of the year.

She worked at the voting polls for the Pontiac elections.  For a number of years she won the Pride and Beautification of yards award in Pontiac, Michigan.  Minnie enjoyed Quilting, Crocheting, knitting, and making all kinds of hand crafts; she was a master with her sewing machine.

Minnie leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Sha-Ron (Zebedee) Tolbert, Howard Mahone, Diane (Danny) Guy, her siblings, Mattie Rhodes, LaFaye Peters, Alice Day, sister-in-laws; Doris Mack and Patsy Mack, grandchildren; Ryan James, Ebonee, Patience, Deidre, Michelle and Terrence.  Also survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Godchildren and a host of lifetime friends.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Sarah Leatrice Mack, her husband, Howard P. Mahone, daughters, Thressa Lynn and Gwendolyn Mahone, her siblings; Cleveland Mack, Willie H. Mack, Elroy Mack, Lee A. Mack, Zeolar Maddox and her Daughter-In-Law Carol Mahone.

Minnie Ola Mahone will lie in repose on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.   "Visitation is open to the public"

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home, family hour will start at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.   "FUNERAL SERVICES AND FAMILY HOUR WILL BE BY INVITATION ONLY".

As a global concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 20 people with a distance of 6 feet.
