Morris Taylor was born on December 16, 1930, to Leon and Magnolia Taylor in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by parents, his son; Keith, Jr., daughters; Linda and Vanda, sister; Leona Hughes, brother; Gene Taylor, nieces; Sharon (Sissy), Pam, Karen and Jackie, nephews; Gene, Jr., Earl Jr., and George.
Morris attended Public Schools in Indianapolis and graduated in 1947, from Crispus Attucks High School. He joined the Army Co B 501st Airborne Med Battalion in 1950 and served his country as a medic. He married Vergie Lewis in 1953, to this union three children were born, Morris, Jr., Linda and Keith, Jr.
Morris later moved to Pontiac Michigan in 1964 and gained employment with Pontiac Motors. He joined with Franklin Road Church of Christ and attended until age and health began to slow him down.
Morris had a love for fishing that could not be measured and he shared that love with his oldest son Morris Jr. He joined the Detroit Bass Club at the urging of Morris Jr and was embraced by its members. He lit up at just the mention of going fishing!
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his son Morris Jr (Cheryl), daughter Stephanie Martin of VanCleve Mississippi, sister Delores Garnett, daughter-in-law Elaine Broyles and grandchildren: Zaundra, Bianca, Jessie, Keith Jr., Dallas, Darius and Alicia; nieces Kathy (Earl) Nowlen and Janice (Nanny) Taylor, and nephew Eric Taylor, special friends; Rob (his buddy), Mary Grace, Diane and Sherry. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He will lie in repose on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm-6:00pm.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, 8, 2024, at Franklin Road Church of Christ 1400 Franklin Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Family hour will begin at 10:30am and the service will immediately start at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park, Pontiac, Michigan.
