Obituary

Patricia JoAnn Payne of Pontiac, Michigan departed this life on October 14, 2019.  Mother Payne was born in Tennessee to Richard and Theresa Clark, whom preceded her in death.  Mother Payne leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Lee Boston Payne for over 30 years, her children; Booker T. Whitfield, Rodney K. Whitfield, Theresa A. Moseley, Johnella M. Whitfield,  (Step-daughter) Patricia A. Whitfield, the late; William T. Whitfield and Arthur Whitfield, her legacy of ten grandchildren,  twentyseven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

She joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan in 1967 when Rev. E. L. Minor was the Pastor, she continues to serve as a Mother of the Church under Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy's Leadership.

She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Lambda Rho Zeta Chapter for over 30 years, a member of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club, the founder of the Macedonia Theatrical Troop, a mission leader of the Deborah/Sarah Circle, a member of the Pontiac Unique Red Hatters and one of eight of the Golden Girls etc.

Mrs. Payne will lie in repose on Friday, October 18, 2019 at  Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 512 Pearsall St., Pontiac, Michigan from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m.   Family hour will start at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Church.   Patricia JoAnn Payne's Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 512 Pearsall St., Pontiac, Michigan, Rev. Terrance J. Gowdy, officiating.  The family hour will start at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Payne will be laid to rest at Perry Mt Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
