Rosalyn Pearson
Cooper
May 1, 1950 — Jun 8, 2026
Rosalyn (Roz) Pearson Cooper was born on May 1, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the union of the late Alvie C. Cowart Farris and Isiah Pearson. Rosalyn was called home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2026, at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Troy, Michigan.
Rosalyn moved to Pontiac, Michigan with her family as a child. She graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1969, attended the Pontiac Business Institute, and later worked in accounting at General Motors Truck & Bus. In 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, Willie Cooper.
Rosalyn loved the Lord and was a devoted, longtime member of Monument of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan. She had a passion for music, especially gospel and Motown, and loved attending live concerts. She took great pride in looking "sharp," absolutely loved driving Cadillacs, and cherished time spent with her family at reunions and picnics. Rosalyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie C. Cowart Farris and Isiah Pearson; her husband, Willie Cooper; her mother-in-law, Hattie Cooper; her sister, Kathy Pearson; and her sister-in-law, Ella Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carla (Michael); her sons, Willie (Alex) and David; her grandchildren, Quincy, Leah, and Shanice; her sisters, Vickie Curry (Michael) and Tracey Burrell; her brothers, Andre Pearson and Gregory White; brother-in-law Arthur Cooper and special family friend, Kathy Threets. Rosalyn also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
