Rosia Mae McKnight was born on April 18, 1927 in Brewton, Alabama to the late Willie and Eunice Owens.

On December 23, 1950, Rosia was united in holy matrimony to Gladen McKnight, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  Some years later, they moved to Pontiac, Michigan.  She was a founding member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where she labored.  Rosia was a long and faithful member where she served on the trustee and mother's board.  She was also a part of St. James choir and was well known for her A cappella voice.

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, Rosia "BUTTERFLY" descended away.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gladen McKnight, sons; Bobby (Beaulah) McMean, Carlton McKnight, daughter; Raquel McKnight and sister; Alberta Harris.

Rosia leaves to cherish  her memories, children; Harvey McKnight, Gary McKnight, Patrick (Angela) McKnight and Lorie McKnight, special goddaughter; Shaunda Eggleston, 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. McKnight will lie in repose on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 3:00pm til 8:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held at New Mount Moriah International Church 313 Walton Blvd, Pontiac, Michigan.  Bishop William Murphy, Jr., host pastor.  Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will start at 9:30am and service will begin at 10:00am.
