Teresa
Griffin
Mar 31, 1963 — Dec 30, 2024
Reverend Teresa Griffin (aka "Tee") was born to Edgar Sr. and Lose Griffin on March 31, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Northeastern High School with the honor of serving as class president. After 25 years of service with Delta Dental, she was overjoyed to retire on July 7, 2021.
A fierce woman of faith, Rev. Griffin met the Lord at a young age at Prayer Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor David Craig. She sung in the choir and learned to praise and pray. Her journey of faith led her to Bountiful Blessings Church under the leadership of Pastor Rance Allen in Toledo, Ohio. Continuing with her ministry, she became Assistant Pastor at Booth Chapel COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Booth in Detroit, Michigan for several years. Ultimately, her journey led her to her beloved church family at New Experience Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Antonio Gibson in Pontiac, Michigan, where she did what she loved: preaching, praising, and praying.
She was the prayer warrior for her family. Many family members came to Christ because of her constantly praying for them to be saved.
She loved to sew, she loved to barbecue and bake pies and cakes for family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was quick to imitate and give funny nicknames to others. She was always laughing the hardest.
Rev. Griffin is preceded in death by her parents Edgar Sr. and Louise Griffin; two brothers, Henry Griffin, Edgar Griffin, Jr.; and one sister, Rachel Griffin-Jefferson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sisters Sharon Louise and twin sisters Loretha and Loraine Griffin; cousins David and Brian Singleton, Reverend Michelle Oliver-Duesette, and Howard Oliver, Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home Chapel 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan. Bishop Antonio Gibson, officiating. Family hour will begin at 1:00pm and the service will immediately start at 2:00pm.
